Repaying student loans is easier now!

Tuesday, October 20, 2009

Payments are now adjusted for income and some balances are forgiven.

Starting in June 2009, anyone who has a federal student loan can apply for a new program by the Department of Education that adjusts monthly payments based on income and forgives some remaining balances after 25 years.

Monthly loan payments would be less than 10% of income for most, and payments would not exceed 15% of any income above $16,000. Those earning less wouldn’t have to make any payments!

Find out if this program is right for your family!
