Nation’s economy needing cool nerds

Hybrid careers combining computer technology with other fields are fast becoming the new American jobs of the future. The nation is going to need more high-tech digital nerds! To fuel the demand, educators and technologists say two things need to change: the image of computing work, and computer science education in high schools. Today’s government, as part of the economic stimulus, has increased federal funding for science and technology education. But still, educators say that the revamped high school courses needs to entice more young people into computer science careers.
