Tuesday, February 23, 2010

Parents and students can get free help with completing the Free Application fro Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) - an essential step when applying for financial aid for higher education.

Assistance for Delawareans is being offered to help students and their families fill out the FAFSA at two sites in Wilmington and Dover, on Saturday, February 27. This year it’s being offered at the Terry and Wilmington campuses of Delaware Technical & Community College from 10:00 am - 2:00pm. The event is geared to making sure that anyone wanting to apply for financial aid receives the help they need with completing all the complicated forms. It’s importan that anyone who has questions about whether or not they can afford to go to college take the time to complete the FAFSA in case they qualify for aid. Studies show that 40% of students who don’t fill out the FAFSA would have qualified for aid.

If attending you will need to bring certain financial information for completing the forms. A comprehensive list of what to bring can be found at http://www.CollegeGoalSundayUSA.org.
