About “Yes YOU Can!”

High school is not just a rite of passage that our children must get through. It should be a springboard for success that provides every student with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed, and the ability to self-initiate.
Valerie Woodruff
Secretary of Education
Delaware Department of Education

That’s why Yes YOU Can! was created – to help Delaware middle and high school students understand all the opportunities they have to succeed in life after high school. Whether you decide to continue your education or seek a career, the Delaware Department of Education (DOE) is committed to helping all students obtain the skills and knowledge necessary for success.

We hope you enjoy the Yes YOU Can! website and find it helpful in making your BIG decision about the future.

Background

Developed with input from students, parents, teachers, college professors and employers, Yes YOU Can! is a public awareness campaign designed to support the Delaware Department of Education’s (DOE) Reaching Higher for Student Success initiative, which encompasses a range of educational programs and activities designed to revitalize public middle and high schools.

Through this campaign, DOE and its partners are striving to create a shared commitment among students, educators, parents and the community that all high school students will graduate ready for college, work and citizenship.

Reaching Higher for Student Success is funded in part by a grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, through the National Governor’s Association’s Honor States Program.
